The Holy Family Prayer

JESUS, Son of God and Son of Mary, bless our family. Graciously inspire in us the unity, peace, and mutual love that you found in your own family in the little town of Nazareth.

MARY, Mother of Jesus and Our Mother, nourish our family with your faith and your love. Keep us close to your Son, Jesus, in all our sorrows and joys.

JOSEPH, Foster-father to Jesus, guardian and spouse of Mary, keep our family safe from harm. Help us in all times of discouragement or anxiety.

HOLY FAMILY OF NAZARETH, make our family one with you. Help us to be instruments of peace. Grant that love, strengthened by grace, may prove mightier than all the weaknesses and trials through which our families sometimes pass. May we always have God at the center of our hearts and homes until we are all one family, happy and at peace in our true home with you. Amen.

Prayer for Our Missionaries

Holy Family of Nazareth, subjected to various sufferings, obtain for the Missionaries of the Holy Family the grace to endure all things for you, their holy patrons.

By your poverty, make them detached from everything earthly.

By your flight into Egypt, give them the grace to carry the Gospel to distant nations.

By your spirit of obedience, teach them submission and reverence.

By your self-denial, obtain for them the grace to conquer themselves.

By your mutual love, make them of one heart and one soul.

By your holy silence, give them true recollection of spirit.

By your union with God, make them zealous for the honor of God and the salvation of souls.

By your holiness, keep from them all who would not persevere in a holy life.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, enlighten us, help us, and save us. Amen.

Prayer for Vocations

Loving God and Father of all, we thank you for all that we are and have, and for all that we are able to do. We thank you most of all that, through baptism, we share in your life, and through your Holy Spirit, we are formed with Christ Jesus as your sons and daughters. Dedicated to the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph and urged on by the charism of our founder, Servant of God Father John Berthier, we pray that people of our time will be enlightened by the Spirit to discern their particular calling in life.

We pray especially for vocations which respond to the missionary task of the Church and contribute to the evangelization of all for the coming of the Kingdom of God. Enkindle with the fire and zeal of your love the hearts of those whom you have called to evangelize in far away places, different cultures, and wherever the Gospel needs to be proclaimed.

Awaken within the hearts of many a call to minister as religious sisters and brothers; as deacons or priests; as married couples or as single persons. Grant us all the grace to draw others to the Gospel, to promote vocations, and to commit ourselves to the pastoral care of families. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, enlighten us, help us, and save us! Amen.

Consecration to the Holy Family (1st Friday of every month-after initial consecration)

O Jesus,* our most loving Savior,* who deigned to come into the world from heaven,* not only to enlighten it by teaching* and by your example* and to save it by death,* but also to spend the greater part of life* in humble obedience to Mary and Joseph* in the obscurity of Nazareth,* thus sanctifying the home* which is the model of all Christian homes:* graciously receive this family* which consecrates itself to you this day.* Protect us and maintain in us, all through life,* your holy fear and love* and true harmony and charity among ourselves,* so that we may imitate your Holy Family,* be one in heart and soul on earth,* and obtain eternal happiness and glory* with you in heaven.

O Mary,* loving Mother of Jesus and Our Mother,* by your merciful intercession* deign to make this humble dedication acceptable to Jesus Christ* so that we may obtain His grace to be a truly Christian family.

St. Joseph,* guardian and supporter of Jesus and Mary,* help us with your powerful prayers* in all our corporal and spiritual needs,* and especially at the hour of our death,* so that we may one day be united in heaven with you* to praise and love Jesus and Mary forever and ever.* Amen.
